I (finally) got the script working, but now I have problems getting work from the server(s). I know they are up, since my windoze machine just retrieved WUs.

The client complains that it can't get access to the main page for "http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/." asks me to check the url (well.. that URL is ok...), resets the project and detaches.
Is it ok to use the same accountkey as a windowz machine, or should I get a new one?
Thanks,

Cor

Shut down your Linux BOINC client and copy the account*.xml files from the Windows box onto the Linux box. When BOINC restarts, all should be well.

It looks like you have a trailing period in the URL:

-----clip-----
The client complains that it can't get access to the main page for "http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/."
-----clip-----

It should not have that. It should be:

Sorry, my booboo... I had the input from port 80 closed by my firewall....

So, I have some form of connection now, it now just complains about 2 things:

1. something about a GUI RPC bind which failed with -1... whatever that means
2. it's complaining about not enough memory being available... I've got 900 Mb's waiting for the stuff... come on... that should be enough!
Thanks,

Cor

I copied the file, but still BOINC complains about not enough memory being available.. what memory is it complaining about? Diskspace or RAM-memory?

Thanks,

Cor

BOINC/SETI currently requires *more* than 64M of RAM. How much do you have?

Generally, if your computer only has 64M that is not enough. I had a couple of old computers that I had to put back to running SETI classic because of the new minimum memory requirements.
