Must be closing in on 5 days since I last downloaded a WU now.

Does anyone have any idea when things will return to normal?

Thanks.

Greg.

Strange. What happens 10 minutes later? Presumably BOINC sends another request; what response do you get?

The news items have info on why the number of available WUs is low. My problem is I have a metered dial-up access so can not leave BOINC to keep trying. I have turned my PC off :( Hopefully when the harwdare migration is completed things will return to normal.

There has been problems to get WU's lately as the databases are being transferred. However I think you have different problems. I would upgrade your Boinc and see if that would help anything.

Current official versions are 4.19 for boinc and 4.08 for application.

Nothing wrong in my settings unless something has changed Boinc and I should have changed something to match.

I keep getting the reply, constantly, that there is no work to have from the server and the server status page says there are only 35 to download, which wouldnt last a second you would think.

The news was many days ago and seem to say that everything would be finished quickly. The server status page says there is only one splitter needed running to keep everybody happy - and yet so many of us cant get WUs because there is no work available!

The problem isnt here. Been using 4.66 some time and though it has problems starting correctly, it hasnt had a problem downloading until 5 days ago.

Just got some WUs for the first time in SIX days now. BTW, I said I have 4.66. I have 4.56.

The way I got it was to continually hit the UPDATE link. After about a dozen tries, I finally got work sent. Was about 10 of them and I do keep 10 days worth as this machine does them in 3 to 3.5 hours, 2 at a time. So, still some way to go before it has 10 days worth but at least it isnt going to run out in a day.

Remember that the database server is running very slowly.

Splitters feed the database, so if the splitters are splitting away, but waiting for the database server to accept records, then work will be scarce.

That said, I've yet to run out.
