I was wondering if anyone else is having problems with updates and credit issues. I have switched several times from version to version. I was wondering if anyone knows of any issues. |

May I suggest the "news" section on the home page, conveniently located at http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu. Hint: The validator is what gives you credits. A member of The Knights Who Say NI! For rankings, history graphs and more, check out: My BOINC stats site |

> Add to that fact that RAC is not correctly calculated. For example, my > LHC@Home RAC should be zero ... Yes but not by the project. RAC is only re calculated by the project when new credit is granted. The XML file that is exported has this RAC as well as a timestamp indicating when it was last re calculated. The stats sites are SUPPOSED to use these two bits of information to re calculate RAC themselves to make it accurate as of "now". I have implemented this on my own stats site however it appears others have not. See here for your "real" LHC RAC. On a completely inactive project such as LHC it doesn't matter as much but if RAC isn't re calculated on active projects, hosts and users who have quit contributing to the project can still be listed as having high ranks according to their RAC. If you are interested in the gory details and how I decided to implement this feature, see the boinc stats mailing list archive for November which can be found here. I have to admit that aside from tracking intermittantly my overall standing that I don't get into the numbers that much. Maybe it is like other things in my life, I proved I could do it, so, time to move on. I mean, heck, in SETI@Home Classic I got pretty well up the list of the "Top 1000" in the US ... Which does not mean that I have any special quality other than more money than brains ... I mean, all the stats tell us is that one participant has bought more computers than someone else. |
