Im building my own PC from scratch, I have a CPU (AMD Athlon XP 1500+) A Video card, and a mainboard. But I dont really want to spend too much on the PC, so 256MB of memory be enough ?

Depends on what else you want to do with your PC.
Seti itself will only use a little less than 20MB, when graphics aren't shown.

Win98, plenty.
WinXP/2k, try 512MB.

256 meg with xp is ample for seti. 2 of my 'cheap' machines...sempron 2600+ and celeron 2.4 use xp and 256 meg/ram. I run cpdn and seti on them with no probs.

The minimum for Boinc is 64 meg AFTER the OS loads. That means realistically you will need at least 96 meg of ram in the machine. So yes 256 meg will be enough to satisfy Boinc. If the machine uses shared video memory make sure you leave enough free.
I have a machine with one 128 meg ram chip, I set up 64 meg for the video card and Boinc refused to load. I lowered the video card part to 32 meg and Boinc now works fine.
