boinc is pathetic, does not work well, and this is supposed to be supirior to seti classic, i gave up my 300 classic work units to become part of this pathetic program.....why doesnt it work, why does it pause the program after EVERY unit EVEN when i hit "run allways", if i hit RUN ALLWAYS i EXPECT it to run allways, AMD i DID NOT select dial up automatically BUT IT DOES also i can't change priority, on the seti process. i have been through my options here, set them all to as i "wanted" them, its just infuriating....i was calculating FAR BETTER witht he old 3.08 command line version, is there a boink command line version, because if so thats what im after lol, its just infuriating the program is not working as it should! |

well, for one, Boinc is still in Beta. There is no expectation that every feature is going to work as it should. 2) if you have a question ask. There are many many many people on here who would be more than happy to answer a question that you have. 3) Before you have all the answers, don't come in here and start blasting away. Things do not work the same in Boinc as they do in classic. over all, boinc does work very well. I find that boinc does "run always" when it is supposed to and "suspends work" when the computer is active, like it is supposed to do. There are many improvements that will be coming down the pipeline very soon. As soon as the dev team feels they have a package that is stable enough for mainstream release you will see many of the improvements on which they have been working. (I did have more than 50000 classic WU before I made the switch and my new SETI credits prove this...) I too came down from the classic version and did not had to much of a problem... So my advice keep on reading and figuring out what is actually going wrong... Paul Buck has a very good website and manual. Greetings from Belgium ;-)) |
