...hmm.. might ask for the world next... anyway would it be possible for the screensaver to use directX accelerated graphics? considering that it is 3d after all.. it would take much load off the cpu and allow more analisis to be done but still be able to get a decent frame rate.. also would it be possible to include a user specified memory use amount? im tired of my hdd thrashing all the time... --sam |

You can specify in your account settings how often you want BOINC to save to disk. The default is 60 seconds. I wouldn't really consider every 60 seconds "thrashing". Or are you saying the screensaver causes your HD to thrash? <a> [/url] |

You can set the amount of CPU time to use for graphics also. Select custom, hit update, then edit the graphics settings again to get to it. John Keck BOINCing since 2002/12/08 |

if your hd is thrashing, it is time to defrag and watch what other programs you have running... ttyl Jeff |
