I have been running the new client for a few days now, and have completed several WUs. Can anyone tell me when I will get my credit? Thanks. |

T´ve done about 15 WUs since the beginning of the official version and have not got any credit. Is it possible that this is shut down???? |

It is the luck of the draw to a certain extent. Results must be verified by 2 other computers before credit is granted, so you might get credit immediately (if you are the 3rd) or it might take a month (if the other people assigned have problems and the work has to be resent). After a month or so you should have a pool of pending work ready so that some is being granted all the time and your total will be rising pretty regularly. John Keck BOINCing since 2002/12/08 |

I've been running 24/7 with 4 fast machines for a week, and I don't have any credit at all, It doesn't help that all the other stats are down, such as results etc. It would be nice if the software was able to tell you how many units you have done. |

Hi I´ve got only today over 200 credits. Last three days nothing with 2 machines with 2.1 Ghz 24/7. It will be clearer when the stats page is usable again so we can see when 3 results have returned. greetz Mike |

> well my first credits have just got here :) > > must have come by snail mail.... > Punto > Once everything is up and running smoothly the credits will come faster. I currently have 7 machines running Boinc and they are connecting, or not, as fast as yours. EVERYONE is in the same boat, we are waiting for Berkeley to fix the bugs so we can all return our units and get new ones to crunch. When this happens on a regular basis your credits will come in on a regular basis also. |

"When this happens on a regular basis your credits will come in on a regular basis also." __________ Not entirely true. Yes, with more people having work to return, credits have the potential to be granted more quickly, as there are more WUs in the pool. However, if you get a "new" WU, a credit delay of two weeks or more is not unexpected. You have to consider a few factors. 1- How quick are the other hosts the WU has been sent to? 2- How quick these other hosts will report the results. Will they do it manually, or let the scheduler pick them up automatically? If they go the automatic route, this can be accomplished two ways. It will either grab them the next time the host asks for more work, or around 24hours before the WUs deadline. If the host has a large cache, it could be a week or two before it asks for more work. If BOINC comes up against the deadline, this is generally two weeks away. 3- Has any host given the WU reset or detached, thus "flushing" the WU? If a WU has been "thrown out", the scheduler will wait until the deadline expires before adding it to the "pool" of WUs to be sent out again. This could take two weeks for the deadline to be met, then more time waiting to be sent depending on how many WUs are in the pool. Then we are back to numbers 1 and 2. And finally, 4- How quick the validator processes the WU. Assuming it's operating at peak efficiency, this shouldn't be a long wait. But currently it's still slogging through a large backlog. <a> [/url] |

The validator seems to be pretty efficient, if I update the project and report WUs, then wait 30 seconds and do it again, I often get more credit show up, this is most likely from the units I've just reported that are the 3rd to be received. I have also worked out that the credit I'm currently showing on the average is about equivalent to one of my 5 machines daily throughput, so only 1 in 5 of the units I process has had 3 results returned so far. |
