As you may already know some mental person is mass posting in the cafe to try and ruin it for other sane members.This person has been mass posting for about 3 hours.They clearly have serious mental problems and need help fast.I think it is sensible to shut the cafe down(do not post) until seti sorts this out.I tried posting and stopping him but he just continues on.I hope he has the cash to pay seti when they send him the bill for overloading and using net space.Maybe people can post on here instead until the nutter is gone?Seti are now deleting his posts but he still(unbelievabley) continues to post.

Seti have now deleted the person.I just bumped about 15 threads back which were lost in the mayhem.Now I am being sworn at for doing that.I was simply getting a few posts back which were pushed back pages and pages.Some bloke is swearing at me because of the 2900 posts which were nothing to do with me.I was just trying to help.Charming ;-((

With a little technical knowledge, it would be straightforward to write a piece of code to continually act like a user and post any message a whacko wished, to an online forum.

Some forum code has checks for time between postings...postings per hour...etc to try and reduce this problem somewhat...but the auto-posting code could just put delays between certain operations to overcome this.

As such, Rachel, HR may not even be reading the forum, and your postings, it may all be just a machine.

The reason I posted this in here was because the cafe was being bombarded with spam and I wanted to let this forum know what was going on.So It would be no good posting this in the cafe, ok?This is not spam.This was letting other users know what was going on.As the spammer was posting a new post every few secs, it was no good posting it there as within a few secs this post would of been invisible anyway.I thought the decent thing to do was let other people know what was happening.Its called being polite and letting people know about such things.

I would think that the world is divided into two classes of people -- those that use (and visit) the cafe, and those that don't. Those that use the cafe will know what's going on. Those that don't use the cafe don't care what's going on there. I could live my whole life happily without ever knowing what is happening in the cafe. And if I ever did want to know, I would just go and visit it -- I have no need to be informed about it here.
