Realtek advised me to try 178.24 Nvidia driver for use with CUDA on my Realtek WInFast PX9800 GT (S-Fanpipe) card. It's the latest WHQL driver, in fact.
And guess what? It worked fine - without any graphical lags, that I have been experienced with 178.28, 180.48 and 180.60. But the problem with video memory overflow after few runs (maximum 8) remained. The only problem with it might be that I'm using XP64, not Vista?

Forgot to give link. Here. Search for Recommended/Beta: Recommended/Certified.
180.48 is also WHQL, actually, but it's 178.24 that helped me. I may try also 178.13...

Hi Sergej!

How do you know you got memory overflow? Do you have a tool that shows this or is it an error message in a WU result?

I downloaded and installed nvidia tools, but they do not give any info on temps nor memory. Supposidly this is a vista problem. I did get gpuz to show temps.

I am seeing 67c on a 9800gtx+ using gpuz. What are your temps?

..TIA..

Hi,

After unit result returned to the site with report, I see on the task
Cuda error 'cudaMalloc((void**) &dev_cx_DataArray' in file 'c:/sw/gpgpu/seti/seti_boinc/client/cuda/cudaAcceleration.cu' in line 234 : out of memory.
(You can't see it until uploads resumes. This probably should be something on hard disk until report, but I don't see where.)
This usually happens after few successfull. I understand that program didn't redo all the nessesary video memory changes the CUDA program did, so with every new run the program have less "free space to play", and within up to 8 runs the memory available no more.

Oh, and about temps, my latest readout about 67-69C. This is not much is the limit is 105C. Before I saw temps of 95C, too.

RivaTuner 2.21 can show you GPU temps and memory usage.

Now that I'm intalled XP32 (insted of XP64) and BOINC 6.5, Enchanced 6.05 seems working ok on the Main. Yes, with 180.48 drivers.
Already completed 12 tasks in a row. The graphical lags remained, but now they are kinda smooth and doesn't troubling me much.
